Years passed and the nun, still carrying her Buddha, went to live in a small temple in a country where there were many Buddhas, each with their own altar.
The nun wished to burn incense in front of her golden Buddha, but she didn’t like the scent to go to the other Buddhas, so she made a kind of small chimney that would have made the smoke rise only to her statue.
The nose of the golden Buddha became black, making it particularly ugly.
